Vernal Senses

The first gentle kiss of sunlight,
invites my soul with its dawn ray,
to spend a while with nature's love,
wandering spring's pathways today.

Inhale the freshness after snow,
entwined with sweet floral bouquet,
from clusters of yellow found there,
wandering spring's pathways today.

Savour this first morning of growth,
that brings joy and hope as I pray,
tastes of life released from winter,
wandering spring's pathways today.

Musical serenades return,
as birds call their lovers to play,
among the budding leaves I see
wandering spring's pathways today.

Visions of sunshine saffron clouds,
cheeky daffodils wave my way,
my companions as I walk in thought,
wandering spring's pathways today.

Dactyllic Tetrameter

Brilliant skies of surrealistic winter days,
Shades of grey lacking in cheer or delighting ways,
Mingle with vivid sighs, spring is arriving soon,
Icy the winds that recall the white snows of dune.

Children relay the intrigue of her mystery,
Seasons reclaim this awakening history,
Looking forward to rebirth of our Mother Earth,
Colour again will bedeck her ichorous girth.

Nature entices the eyes with exquisite dreams,
Winter white winds of elusive elation seems,
Out of our reach through belief in the living times,
Quickens consoling memories of springs eloquent and sublime.

Cold Tranquility Descends

On winter's nights, so calm, so still,
the Goddess starts to sing,
a voice of warmth against the chill,
that touches mortal wing,
a moon lit beacon, over hill
and valley peace She'll bring.

This tranquil spot amid the stone,
the words of Ancient's call,
on moment passed from maid to crone,
where boulders remain tall,
and blighted frost inspires the tone,
embraced within prayer shawl.

My Goddess sits in skies serene,
amid the night's star light,
ponder Her gaze upon the scene,
Her love where hearts unite,
the gift of peace from heaven's Queen,
as souls on Earth delight.

Shades of Autumn

As autumn brings vibrant shades
the sun fades towards year’s end.
Trees of green now golden red,
their leaves shed and colours blend.

Nature’s brightest palette forms
in wind and storms over land,
inspired art in paint and ink
as minds think with fall at hand.

Bonfires and feasting begin,
err snowflakes spin the world white.
The end of one leads to new,
in winter’s view, land so bright.

We watch in awe and wonder,
hear the thunder, lightning bolt.
Yet feel delight of seasons
year’s reasons do not revolt.

Ravaged Ice

In winter’s claws, all is white
from frost’s bite and the snow.
Set the fire, love, in the hearth,
warm the bath, and feel love’s glow.

Toast me crumpets on the grate,
my hunger sate, watching dreams.
In the flames my thoughts of love
drift above to our loft’s beams.

Damask quilt that keeps us warm,
fingers trace form in lust’s vice.
Your passion melts my cold heart.
My love’s art has ravaged ice.

Ever Turning Circle

In winter’s white, as angels cry

for early spring to warm the wind,

to bring to life with gentle sigh,
in love, the bitter frost has thinned.

For early spring to warm the wind,
at Valentine’s romantic calls,
in love, the bitter frost has thinned,
where dancers twirl amid stone walls.

At Valentine’s romantic calls,
rebirth of nature’s light divine,
where dancers twirl amid stone walls,
and blossoms pastel shades recline.

Rebirth of nature’s light divine,
when day equals the hours of night,

and blossoms pastel shades recline,
to hail the queen of May in light.

When day equals the hours of night,
a summer’s sun will come to play,
to hail the queen of May in light,
we chant and sing along the way.

A summer’s sun will come to play,
so life can grow as gods decreed,
we chant and sing along the way,
with warmth and light our hunger feed.

So life can grow as gods decreed,
the rays of sun on seeds we’ve sown,
with warmth and light our hunger feed,
the wealth of harvest is our own.

The rays of sun on seeds we’ve sown,
in autumn breeze that chills the heat,
the wealth of harvest is our own,
as gold and red belies our feet.

In autumn breeze that chills the heat,
a year that ends with blessed Samhain,
as gold and red belies our feet,
the call of Ancient’s name to reign.

A year that ends with blessed Samhain,
to bring to life with gentle sigh,
the call of Ancient’s name to reign,
in winter’s white, as angels cry.

The First Person

In my own way from where I stand
I see the light through glass
Above my desk, a brush in hand
I paint the view from class.

The trees all dressed in shades of fall
A leaf of red meets eye
As amber leaves in drifts now sprawl
My mind the first to sigh.

The winter's wind begins to blow
To bring the chilling hoar
So Mother Earth can rest in snow
The circle moves in lore.

As seasons bring the life of Earth
In nature's love is bound
A path to clarity from birth
The circle turns around.

My eye that sees from one lone leaf
Now paints a magic land
The mind that sees beyond the reef
Now guides the brush in hand.

My art my point of view reveals
Image from eye of I
The doorway of soul that conceals
The realms of mortal tie.

Summer's Rain

A love found in nature’s glory,
A passion freed me from the pain,
The kiss that started our story
In summer’s rain.

Shelter in the trees’ green cascade,
A warm embrace the waters drain,
As we embarked on love’s crusade,
In summer’s rain.

The damsel in me has a need,
For the knight in you that is plain,
The tender lips that are my feed
In summer’s rain.

Saved from the cloud burst by your touch
Lovers unite in country lane
The tenderness I need so much,
In summer’s rain.

The fingers in my moist hands fall
The loving shoulders take the strain
Our pairing for love stands for all
The summers’ reign.

Purls of dew that taste so sweet,
Forming like new tears on a chain,
Freshness of senses in the heat
In summer’s rain.

In storms we play hide and go seek
The claps of thunder will lay slain
By the power of love that speaks
In summer’s rain.

All through the days of sun we wait
For the first flash in windows pane,
Reach for the peaks of desire’s fate
In summer’s rain.

From you, my love, I never part,
My eternity, you remain,
Forever reigning in my heart
And summer’s rain.

Ostera Serende

Long nights of darkness are coming to an end.
Spring is marching in, warming the world with life.
Bleak landscape expanses of sombre grey shadows,
Fade to fresh greens, as vibrant as a gypsy’s wife.

Nature rejoices, with colour and tweeting bird song,
Lambs lively leaping as the cold embers of winter fade.
Festivals of all creeds celebrate the life renewal.
For Easter, Ostera, Equinox, voices in praise, invade.

Dancing in the breeze yellow suited gentleman sway,
Daffodils, blasting a serenade on golden trumpet.
Waking the snowdrops, dozing beneath the budding oak,
Finally the frosts bid farewell with the last winter sunset.

Oceans of blue, yellow and white crocuses rippling in the wind,
Cascading waterfalls of colour, on this blessed morn.
Mother Earth is awakening from her long slumber,
As rays embrace her with love, from the first spring dawn.

Blessed spring to all with love and light.

Wilted Roses (Version 2)

Worn are the faces of aged stone graves
Sun, wind and rain have beaten all to dust.
Words lost to time in twilight’s damask waves.
The unused gateway gathers shards of rust.

Once vibrant petals are withered and dry
Left once, now n act of remembrance lost.
Wilted roses remain alone, left to die
And weigh the invisible spirit cost.

Silent the sleepers in the church’s yard,
Undisturbed by the passers by now.
Forgotten faces from when times were hard
Reading and writing, most didn’t know how.

So many forgotten over passing years,
Did anyone once stand by shedding lost tears?

Wilted Roses (Version 1)

Our love died at the setting of the sun,
As the day darkened along with the heart.
Like unwinding string our embrace is undone
With the dusk of love it is time to part.

Love fades as ashes of the fire do cool
No embers left to ignite lover’s flame.
Silk threads of passion, the end of the spool.
No regrets, life will never be the same.

The circle of love turned for you and me,
Our lives are on new pathways and reason.
No bitter pain as we set ourselves free,
Like the year, love had its time and season.

At summers end the bush has wilted roses,
And the chance of a new life as love closes.

Autumn's Glow

The leaves made soft, rustling sounds
As we walk through autumn’s glow.
The equinox beckons in bounds,
The harvest in its full flow.
Hay making as we made hay,
A summer’s love going strong.
A kiss leads to our path way,
To our world where we belong.
Lover’s fall is now our tune,
Before winter breaks with snow.
Tendrils of sun on the dune,
As we walk through autumn’s glow.
